Ok for you satanists.

Im not a satanist but I got a question for those that are.. You see those other satanists putting down christian metal bands and saying theyre ''Christian and its God's music'' and such what are your views on this?

I've been an agent of Jesus since the early 80s. I taught Michael and Robert Sweet everything they know about bein' squeaky clean... Before he met me, Michael was portraying Glenn Benton in a Deicide tribute band.

If Christian and Worship bands are "God's music" then God must not have very good taste in music for the most part (exceptions acknowledged).

if any satanist here starts thinking that way,
i'll pm you my addy & you can send those collections to me. or in Eyesore's case, i'll just rent a U-Haul & pick them up myself.

I know this is a spoof topic, but coming from an anti-christian perspective (I'm not a Satanist) I'll say pretty much the same as the christians said - it's music, at the end of the day, and it doesn't matter. However, some areas of christianity I dislike or find offensive, so sometimes it feels odd listening to something that I find apprehensible, but still, music is just music.

I don't listen to hypocrites like One Bad Pig ("you're a pagan fry like bacon"? No wonder christian bands get a bad rep) or bands that are constantly singing about how non-christians will burn in hell, but for the most part christian bands have sensible lyrics. Ultimatum and Crimson Moonlight both have openly christian lyrics that I can totally take seriously, and that are non-offensive or pushy towards non-christians, I like that.

As Muloc said, it goes both ways. The uber-preachy Christian bands tend to get passed by on my end these days...but bands with simply a balanced, Christian perspective on things I can enjoy.

Seriously though, I can't listen to any christian music, it just makes me feel like I'm being preached to which kind of makes me feel a little sick.

But on the flip side, I really can't stand overly satanic lyrics either, because, lets face facts here, it's just as bad as christian lyrics. I actually stopped listening to King Diamond for a while because he's a 'satainst'. I thought anyone that could actually believe in a devil wasn't worth my time. Soon after I discovered he's really just an Atheist which is ok in my book. I still hate the ridiculous "Hail Satan" lyrics of the early Mercyful Fate stuff though.

I don't really like overtly Satanic lyrics because they are just plain silly to me, but at least I know they are just a gimmick and even the musicians playing it don't take it seriously. (Yes there are exceptions). The problem with Christian lyrics is they actually believe that nonsense, and as ghostintheruins said, it just feels like you are being preached to.

if i like the song i listen to it it dosn't really matter if its by a christan,santanist,muslim,rasta,or an atheist

There must be SOME Satanic bands that believe what they are "preaching". Otherwise, burning churches, killing yourself on stage, etc would not be so sheik these days. And just as there are Black metal bands that speak in riddles to confuse the youth, there are Christian bands that tame it WAAAY down, to purposely not come off as "preachy". Mostly the European bands on both sides of that unknown "righteous' line. But I am pretty sure that Europe is ahead of North America in most categories anyways. haha

I have no views. I was raised to have no feelings.
