I was goin thru some old photos and found a batch of pix I took at some shows back in the good old days. Thought some of ya might get a kick out of these:

Local NJ metal band Balistik Kick, circa 1995



My friend Ralph's short lived mid 90s punk band "Rubber Baby," ...he was the drummer (not visible in this pic)... they never went beyond the demo tape stage but they put on a good show and would always bring me to gigs as their lone "roadie" so I got to drink for free and all I had to do was occasionally flip the switch for their smoke machine...nyuk nyuk!

Sure, you want'em, you got'em, man. I know I have a couple more pix of C.G. from that gig stashed away somewhere, if I find'em I'll scan'em and post'em. The pix aren't great but I was using a borrowed camera that I snuck into the venue so I was trying not to get caught. I'm lucky they came out as well as they did.

Yea, it was one of my all time fave shows. I feel kinda privileged/lucky that I got to see them back then, since they didn't play a lot of U.S. gigs. It was in this tiny-ass little club in NYC called "Zone DK" which, as it turns out, was a bondage/fetish/S&M club on weeknights and booked rock bands on the weekends. So the decor in that place was a little, um, shall we say "interesting?"

The club had a tiny stage and a sh*tty sound system but it didn't matter, C.G. went on like it was Madison Square Garden and they owned the place.

I even got to chat with Midnight and Jon Drenning before they went on stage... both very nice guys.

I wish I still had the TRANSCENDENCE T-shirt I bought at this gig, but I wore it till it was transparent and had to be put out of its misery.

Precious memories.. We should all get together around a campfire and share some of our metal memories!

There's nothing like a show in those small venues when the band just owns. I saw Galactic Cowboys and Overkill and it was like that.

Overkill owns every venue they play in. I haven't seen 'em in years but I saw'em a bunch of times back in the day and they always crushed!!
