| So an old college roommate sent me the song "She Falls On The Grave" from the album "A Good Day To Die" by The Dogma. I was so blown away by the track that I ordered both that one and their first album called "Black Roses".
Simply put, this band is at the top of the crowded goth metal genre. The music is much heavier than artists such as To/Die/For, HIM or The 69 Eyes. The lead singer reminds me a lot of Geoff Tate without quite the vocal range. A lot of songs add male, female or male/female choir vocals in spots too.
Anyone else into this band? _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| A Good Day To Die awesome cd I really wouldn't classify them as goth though! They were a top 10 of 2007 for me. Wargod48 NP: Dedication - Reflections Of Time | |

| Song titles like Beginning of the End, Good Day To Die, Bullet In My Soul, Black Roses...and you wouldn't call them goth? Not to mention a lot of pipe organ and atmospheric keys. The Black Roses cd is especially goth metal. The second album has a few cuts that veer away from that (Bitches Street, In The Name Of Rock) but I'd still call them goth metal. They just don't sing in that basso voice typical of goth bands. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Well maybe a touch, but here is how they describe their sound!
"Based on a cleverly orchestrated and emotive mélange of heavy metal, progressive influences and a sprinkling of gothic and symphonic elements, The Dogma demonstrate on A Good Day To Die the qualities that distinguish them from many other acts: “We play a very emotional brand of metal,” guitarist Cosimo Binetti reduces his band’s success formula to a simple denominator." | Works for me!
Have you heard Black Roses? I actually think I like it a touch better than Good Day To Die. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.
