Legs Diamond! The thing is that I think sometimes people are disappointed in Legs at first, because they have a subtly unique sound (at least on their first classic 3 or 4). They always get mentioned in a group with Starz, Moxy, Montrose, etc.; but they weren't usually as heavy as those bands; and I think people are put off by the lack of overt muscle that they might have been led to expect. There are a lot more keyboards on most songs than there are on the bands they tend to be mentioned alongside. If I were describing them I would say they were a cross between an americanized Deep Purple; and 80's poppy Van Halen. Angel might also be another valid comparison, depending on the song. But I just love Legs Diamond. I understand they got much heavier when they came back years later, but I've never invested much time in their later output.
