Okay so these guys and gal have around a while now, but their really starting to hit their straps in the music compartment now.
They totally get the link between James Brown and the MC5, rock n' soul is what they call themselves. Led by enigmatic frontwoman Lisa Kekaula they could easily be called "like Tina Turner fronting the MC5". Funky, soulful and high energy hard rock n' roll. At times sounding like classic rock n' rollers Led Zeppelin and Free, but firmly planted in the dirt of Detroit's proto-punk sound.
I highly recommend them, if you like a big soulful voice fronting a hard rock band. I'm going to see them live next tuesday and by all reports they are a bitchin' live act.
