I finally found Victory Songs and it's awesome. What many are calling Battle or Viking metal. I've eyed the others for awhile but they are expensive and the store near me can't even order them.
Anyone else like these guys and know other bands with this sound? Slechtvalk is kind of close and I think Armada is also.

Victory Songs is a slam dunk! I am not a great lover of death vox but this one is a must have. Their earlier works are not near as good as Victory Songs though. The music is so much more folky which really adds a lot of interest to the music.

I would check out Turisas (The Varangian Way) and Eluveittie (Spirit and the soon to be released Slania). Very similar bands that are also high quality!

Alex

I like Victory Songs just fine but I don't agree with above statement. Iron is flat out amazing ET, and I think you'd like them just fine if you like Victory Songs.

Ensiferum are incredible. I echo the Tursisas suggestion also, but they aren't as speedy as Ensiferum.

I'll be seeing both of those bands along with Eluveitie and Tyr at Pagan Fest USA!!!!!!! Ensiferum 505193

You know the "CD REGRET" thread? The "one or two" that I mentioned - Eluveitie is in that category. I payed a lot to get it and then sold it. I did get all my money back, but I'd rather have it!

Listening to Ensiferum's S/T right now which caused me to bump this. One of my favorites, easily. Great vibe.
