Grief Of War (Thrash from Japan)

Here's a new thrash band from Japan that I just found out about. Give these guys a listen (I was impressed, but I'm a SUCKER for Japanese thrash!!)

Yah, this one kinda took me by surprise. With the name I was expecting some metalcore crap with only the slightest of thrash influences. Apparently the album came out in 2003 on some tiny label in Japan, but Prosthetic picked them up (a Metal Blade sub-label, if I'm not mistaken) and has re-issued it.

Good stuff, anyway!

Grief of War is probably the literal phrasing of the actual Japanese Band name. Like Dirty Trashroad, Tokyo Yankees, the Walkman, Tom Green's Subway Monkey Hour, etc. When translated into English, it just sounds funny to our ears. I figured Mrs. B.T. Sideshow would have pointed that out to ya (I know ya have turned her into a thrasher by now!)!

Got this in the mail the other day....very impressed! Good mix, and has a very nice mixture of the fast thrash and the slower crunchy stuff, as well. I definitely do NOT regret ordering it.

Not bad... kinda Slayeresque with a Japanese accent. They make a hella lot of racket for only being three guys!

I've got outbid at the last few minutes twice now, trying to win this F*&#ing cd on ebay. Guess I'll just have to break down and buy it outright.
