Cataract have a new CD coming out. I'm wicked excited for it. A lot of people label them metalcore, and I'd probably agree. But they're not mainstream metalcore. Cataract is more like Pro-Pain, in that they truly mix metal and hardcore. There's no brutal verses with girly choruses twinkling with fairy dust. It's heavy from beginning to end! The vocals are hardcore in style, the music is a combination of thrash and true old school hardcore.

I've heard some tracks here and there by this band on XM Radio. They were ok. I should probably seek out a cd and check out the whole disc instead of a random track or two.

I just got their first album, Golem, the other day. It's a lot more hardcore than the recent three. Still a great CD if you like hardcore. But the last three have been awesome. This is the kind of music you want to listen to while working out, you know?
