| I love T. Rex have over 20 of his ( Marc Bolan was T.Rex) CD's, just a great great artist and one of my personal favorites.
Favorite album by him, 'The Slider'

| The other cool thing is Marc Bolan's strange twisted nursery rhymes, probably inspired by herb or two, and maybe even took a couple magical mystery tours to write some of these lyrics.
I have never never
Nailed a nose before
That's how the garden grows
I could never understand
The wind at all
Was like a ball of love
And when I'm sad
and if someone could explain what 'Think Zinc' is about ?
People passing by, all through the night
They use my numbers in strange ways
Over the telephone, you should hear them groan
I crossed his wires in strange ways *
You Gotta Think Zinc/Thinka Zinca
I am guessing its about sex, what this has to do about thinking Zinc I have no idea.

| Here are the lyrics to 'Telegram Sam' if you would like to sing along to video posted by WG48
I know's where you' ve bin
Purple Pie Pete Purple Pie Pete
Your lips are like lightning
Girls melt in the heat
Telegram Sam
You're my main man
Telegram Sam
You're my main man
Bobby's alright Bobby's alright
He's a natural born poet
He's just outa sight
Jungle faced Jake
Jungle faced Jake
I say make no mistake
About Jungle faced Jake
Automatic shoes

Give me three D vision
And the California blues

| Another thing you will notice about T. Rex/Marc Bolan is how many time he uses cars as metaphors for women, from his earliest recordings right to the very end in 1977. 'Bang a Gong' being the most famous example: 'Your Built like a Car/You Have a Hubcap Diamond Star Halo/Built like a Car oh Yea' and scores of other songs where women and automobiles seem interchangeable. | |
