| I don't believe the music is heavy enough to be hard rock so I'm posting this here. Anybody like this Christan rock band from the late 80s? I have their album Eclipse and it is one of my favorites of this style of music. They sort of sit in between hard rock and pop rock though lean more towards the latter. Great melody, harmony, and worshipful lyrics abound from these guys. The vocals are a little gruff but very melodic. I know these guys had other albums but for some reason I just haven't sought out any more, I should becaue I can get used copies from Amazon pretty cheap. | |

| I love Second Avenue. That album for me defined Idle Cure. It was probably the closest they came to metal... It had the searing guitar openings and the power ballads.. Alex _________________ | |

| I have 2nd Avenue, saw this thread & listened to it tonight, forgot how good it was. A solid platter through & through. | |

| They were somewhere around Journey to Def Leppard, Foreigner as far as intensity. Sorta ironic this post because I was just thinking about them today.
2nd Avenue had some great stuff on it."Talk It Out", "Pray", "It's No Fun Anymore"... great stuff
That first disc 'Idle Cure' has "Breakaway","overdrive", which just rocks.
unfortunatley they also got caught for ..... faking it live.... There was a CCM 'scandal'.... IC were playing a show at a major festival on the east coast 'Creation' (?) and allegedly Steve Shannons vocals starting blasting out, while he was no where near a mic... in mid song.... I know a lot of bands used tape backgrounds, but this was supposed to be the lead part.....
I still like 'em. never seen live though. | |

| I only have their Greatest Hits album "Breakaways". "Holy Mountain" is my favorite track that is from their "Inside Out" album. They are on my list of albums to get next. They could have done without having their "Breakway Hit Mix" track that sounds horrible. | |

| I really like Idle Cure. Eclipse is indeed a great record, but 2nd Avenue is better. I also like Inside Out a lot. Their first album is okay. The songs Breakaway and Overdrive are great, but the rest of that album sucks. It was their second record where they found their sound. I would recommend all of their albums. | |

| As far as Christian AOR goes, Idle Cure have have been on top for me. I love all thier stuff. Seriously melodic, but just rockin' enough to keep me interested. |
