| I know it must seem like I've been in a cave not knowing this but I was in Hastings the other day and they had a Johny Cash "Best Of" on and I'm hearing this tune that isn't computing. It dawns on me it's Rusty Cage from Soundgarden and Johnny Cash is singing it!!
HILARIOUS!! | |

| Nothing funny about that....When he paired with Rick Rubin he began to do alot of very cool and interesting covers...SOUNDGARDEN, DANZIG, NICK CAVE, NINE INCH NAILS, NEIL DIAMNOND DEPECHE MODE, BOB MARLEY....his interpretations are all pretty amazing... _________________ "Oh man, I need TV? | Rusty Cage was his first modern day Def American foray into the rock to country thing. |

| It sounded hilarious to me in the same way Pat Boone's renditions of metal were. Some things are just too "out of context" for my ears. I repeat...HILARIOUS! | |

| Johnny Cash's version of "Rusty Cage" is better than the original version to my ears. | |

| I remember when Johnny Cash did that. I like Soundgarden's version, but I agree with Trog, Johnny improved it. | |

| You guys want hilarity? Check out FIEND CLUB LOUNGE: A TRIBUTE TO THE MISFITS by the Nutley Brass. Misfits songs played in '50s lounge music style. Every time I listen to the CD, I laugh so hard I nearly break all my furniture. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Love JC. From his early days at Sun Records to his last recordings with Rick Rubin. Him and some occasional Willie Nelson are the only country music that I listen to. | |

| I love Johnny Cash.... Honestly not being a huge Soundgarden guy I'd never heard that tune before... Hearing him do it was fantastic... Pat boone had that total smoke filled room lounge band feel to me.... yuk... Hearing JC sing that song sounded pretty autobiographical for him.... | |

Johnny Cash could read a Chinese take-out menu and make it sound cool.

Definatley. He was a 'torturted soul' as it were. The song 'Hurt' was so powerful... another cover he did. "Folsom Prison blues"... wow...

| I don't like johny Cash doing hard rock songs, he just doesn't pull it. Anywa, I'll keep his cover of Cotton Fields Back Home, which is timeless. |
