Zebra

Anyone else dig these guys?

I have been a fan for eons and have met only one other fan face to face before.

They had a minor hit in the early 80's with "Who's Behind The Door", but all their albums are awesome, IMO. Randy Jackson is an unique singer and a great guitarist. BTW, their DVD is finally going to be released soon.

Thoughts on this band?

Love this album. A great piece of classic rock and roll. Some have said they are a Zeppelin rip-off. I can agree they have a Zeppelin influence, much like Aerosmith have a Stones influence, but I don't see them as being a clone or rip-off. They are far more progressive than Zeppelin and offer a smoother sound. They have a great way with melody. I have all four studio albums.

I like them, but I'm not always in the mood for Randy's falsetto. My cats actually sing along with him.

Fave song "When You Get There"

Love the band. I've seen them a couple dozen times. These guys really kick butt, they put on a great show. Zebra were a regular around town. I've always thought they were a mix of Led Zeppelin, Triumph, Rush, and the Beatles. Kinda lost touch with them when I left town (Kingston, NY). You have got to see them play who's behind the door, wow is all I can say. I always thought they should have been bigger than they were. They were really heavy live. A really awesome sound. They always had local bands open for them, most of them were ok to good. A great show for somewhere between 10-14 bucks. I never missed an opportunity to see them.

Now I've got to go and get the albums again. I had them all on cassette (and wore them out). Thanks for the post. I forgot all about Zebra.

classic. Very different from what was out at the time. To me "Who's behind the door" is one of the top 50-100 rock songs of all time.

Like the album alot, but sadly I traded it long ago.

Zebra are still still one of my favorites. I finally tracked down an original press of No Tellin' Lies for 12 bucks. I just got a hold of their DVD and it gives a good insight into the guys' personalities. Real down to Earth. Hopefully one day I'll see them live.

Pretty good band. I definitely prefer the song "Tell Me What You Want" to "Who's Behind the Door" though. In fact my next favorite song would be "One More Chance".

I haven't heard the whole album, but this is a great band.

I love "Tell Me What You Want" and "Who's Behind the Door?". The Boneyard channel on XM plays'em all the time.

Zebra great band never saw them live, but their first album did really, than the 2nd album 'No Telling Lies' stiffed and never heard of them again, I was surprised to find they had recorded a 3rd studio album '3v' which was really good. I never felt they were Led Zeppelin rip off, that honor would belong to Kingdom Come not Zebra.

They also have a great live album and a fourth studio album.
