| Anyone else here dig Mind Funk? I love 'em! For those that aren't aware, they were a group that played alternative metal before alternative metal was the thing. The original band had Louie Stivek (one time M.O.D. guitarist) and Reed St Mark (one time Celtic Frost drummer) among their ranks. They played intelligent "alt-metal" (I hate that term) and were as highly underrated as the mighty Last Crack, IMO. Thoughts? |

| First thing first - I HATE the Alternative wave that came out in the nineties. Bands like Nirvana, Peark Jam, KoRn, Tool, etc. drove me mad.
However, yes, MindFunk are different. As you said, they are a lot more "intelligent" than most of those pubescent depri-crap bands like Nirvana. Funny enough, their original name was "Mind FU**", but the label demanded that they changed it. Ironically, they mixed in some Funk and some wierd phsychodelic influences. I dig their debut album, but rarely listen to it. However, it's a fun spin from time to time.

Dude, please shut up with this nonsense. It serves no purpose to constantly bring up the crap you hate. Who frickin' cares? NO ONE! And I'm not being mean here!

If you dig the nineties explosion (which I know you do ), get a copy of the first CD. It mixes the first wave if alternative with some odd sounds and phsychodelia. Quite cool. You would dig them, I think.

Yep, you owe it to yourself. I know you like Into Another like myself, so Mind Funk should appeal to you as well. |

The "Mindfunk" CD was more a more traditional rock/metal album. But quite good. "Dropped" I usually listen to in tandem with "Only Living Witness", so that should tell you something, eh? It's a little more alternative or whatever.
