| We probably have all seen this on the road. The "In Loving Memory" car window stickers. They are very thick down here in "Holier Than Thou Polk County Florida". Something I have always wanted to know is....What is being offered in memory to this deceased person? Is it the driving? Is it the unwashed car that the person is driving? Is it the rap or other loud music that is usually blasting from the open windows? Can anyone offer some insight into this question that has hounded me for years? |

| I've never seen one of those. But some of the money that is brought in through the sells of those stickers might go to some kind of charity.
I dunno just guessing. | |

| Usually the ones I see are poorly written in white soap on the back of a pimped-out, low-rider '87 Toyota Corolla in urban areas. It's right up there with the make-shift tributes of stuffed animals people set up on the side of the road of a fatal accident. What better way to remember a loved one than to pile a bunch of dollar store crap and a sheet of poster board with a hastily scribbled note in front of a telephone pole. Classy. http://www.theonion.com/content/node/28100

| Can't speak for these people, but Zoey our 3 year old, wasn't even one year old when she got real sick, and was sedated and on a respirator for two weeks in ICU. She almost died many times. Many nights our phone rang in the middle of the night in a dead sleep at the Ronald McDonald house at the Hospital we stayed in, and they would tell us to wake up and come up to her, cuz they didn't think she was going to make it. She did make it. But, being faced with the reality of my little girl dying, I would have been utterly heart broken. I'd probably have something like that on my beat up old hatchback window and on one of my arms as well! And I wouldn’t give a damn what anybody else thought.... that’s just one perspective though! | |

| But why on a vehicle? I fully understand a tattoo. But I don't know the person receiving the driving tribute so why do I have to look at the window cling? Oh yeah, did I mention I have been diagnosed asocial? |

| I guess my point is more, why do they have to have a reason. Perhaps their child is dead. Or their loved one is dead. Some people may want to forget and go on and not be reminded ever again. Others, cling to that name and those memories. Unless you've been through it, how could we possibly understand any reason given anyway? I guess the answer to your question would be....because it's America! | |

| I see those a lot, and while I understand- If you have to junk the car is that a dishonor to the memory of that person? Honestly those little sticker people families bother me more, have you see those? There is a sticker stick figure person (with characteristics to make them an adult/child and male/female) and each has a name of a person under it representing who is in your family. |

I'm more into the whole "Calvin peeing on something" stickers. | |

| I worked for a sign shop, and we did all those kinds of stickers. They were all faintly annoying to me. We probably did 200 or more stickers for one guy who died in a car wreck. | |

| The only sticker I have on my car is a small Ramones logo in the corner of the back window. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| those stickers flock cars all around where i live. which is actually quite sad. but i think people put those stickers on their cars just to tell the world that they knew that kid that died. its actually pretty sick once you think about it. | |
