| Never really see anyone mention sHEAVY at all! One of my favorite stonerish bands ala Sabbath sound! Early on many compared them to an early Black Sabbath which I tend to agree. But as they have progressed over the years they have forged their own unique style. They just released their latest cd called "The Machine That Won The War" both in reg jewel or CD/DVD combo for which I have. They rarely tour except in their native province of New Brunswick, CA. Anyone have a favs from them I love their ealry material the best! Wargod48 | |

| They are one of the better of the many similar stoner bands out there (Orange Goblin, Sleep, Nebula, etc.) except Sleep sucks, IMO. The band I like the best of this bunch is Spiritual Beggars, which has a definite Trouble influence. Sheavy is good too, but the stuff I've heard is just sooo Ozzy (like a Canuck version of St. Vitus or Count Raven). | |

Wargod48 I never really got that much into Stoner-Bands, which is wierd, because I love classic Sabbath-inspired metal (and Sabbath themselves). I have heard of Sheavy, but never really bothered to check them out... however, you have raised my interest...what album would you recommend I start out with? | |

| They are a band I've been meaning to investigate. I like Nebula, Atomic B*tchwax, Kyuss, Fu Manchu and the like. sHEAVY is always lumped in with those guys, but I have not heard them, aside from a tune or 2. | |

| I like sHEAVY. They are a good band. Celestial Hi-Fi, Blue Sky Mind a Synchronized are all worth checking out. I wasn't too impressed with the Republic cd and haven't heard their latest. | |

The Machine That Won The War, is very reminiscent of The Electric Sleep. I'd go with The Electric Sleep & Celestial Hi Fi to start with! Wargod48

| I love doom, more into the traditional and epic side of the genre, I do like ST. Vitus though. | |

| I only recently heard of this band due to an article on the now defunt Metal Edge magazine, on the best 25 Metal Albums nobody's ever heard of, I added them to my never ending list. | |

| Yea, these guys are still on my want-list as well. Someday I'll get around to purchasing something by them. Someday. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| Bumping an old thread because, hey, why not? I have some mp3s that came up on shuffle the other night that reminded me that I need to investigate these guys for real. If I were to dip my toes in to the waters of SHEAVY, where would one begin? Any one album that's good to start with. Or any that should be avoided? _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | I still haven't checked these guys out (yeah, I'm lazy). I do see the albums "Republic?" and "Celestial Hi Fi" mentioned frequently in discussions of good stoner albums. Those are the ones I'll give a shot to first.
They also did a concept album based on an Issac Asimov book, "The Machine That Won The War", that sounds pretty cool to me.

| Solid band, good songs, and I enjoy them a LOT when I turn it up, but... I don't really remember their songs like I do with classic bands (Witchfinder General, Trouble, Fu Manchu, St. Vitus) I want to love them, and regard them highly, especially since the singer reminds me of some of Ozzy's best singing. Just don't remember their tunes | |

| I have Celestial Hi-Fi coming my way. Not sure if I heard that one before or not. Awhile back, the band's website posted a bunch of their songs for free download, so I took 'em up on the offer. Anyhow, I found a cheap copy on-line, so I snagged it. Looking forward to hearing it. Love me some stoney, doomy goodness. Singer really sounds like a young Ozzy. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | I'm really enjoying these guys. Can't believe I waited so long to hear them. From what I've heard so far, they've really got that early Sabbath sound, both musically and vocally, down pat. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was.
