If I was a millionaire...

Was talking to Shiney this morning, and he said, "If I was a millionaire, I would..."

With unlimited financial freedom (within reason, of course. not
talking Bill Gates or nothing) what would you do differently?

Like I told Shine-ster, I always dreamed of making free spays nad
neutering available to anyone who needed it. There are 300
million dogs and cats euthanized needlessly in this country every year,
simply because no one wants them [this is generally the point I get
really pissed off and start ranting, but I will control myself for
now].

Travel, travel, travel.....it's the one thing my wife and I have most in common. I'd own a nice log cabin in a pretty mountainous area (or two) for the Summer and a modest but decked-out cottage on the beach in Barbados for the Winter. We'd get our "100 Places To See Before You Die" book and see them all!!!!

Also, I wouldn't waste one, 1, un, uno, kelen....second on bidding, searching for the lowest price on CDs.....want it - find it - buy it - price wouldn't matter!!!!!

I'd also be able to afford the best supplements to aid my lifting, so I'd treat my body like a chemistry set (legal only - I'd still be a Christian and I'd want to obey applicable laws). I'd hire a nutritionist and a hard core trainer just to invent wicked routines for me to get through. Torture me!!
My wife would want for nothing. She's a GREAT woman/wife/Christian and she's done w/out for most of her life. It'd be her turn to not have to worry about prices.

My Mom and Dad would retire TODAY! GOLF, GOLF, GOLF for my Dad and whatever my Mom wanted to get into, she wouldn't have to worry about money.

My Mother In Law would have most of her joints replaced with the latest in technological wizardry and be able to walk without pain again.

My kids would go to whatever school they wanted to...BUT...with a GPA caveat. If their GPA fell below such and such a level, they'd have to pay for college just like 90% of us had to. They'd be mad at Mom and Dad for a while, but they would better learn the value of the $. If their grades stayed above the required level, they wouldn't have to pay for college, but their hard work getting the good grades would be lesson enough (I think?!? )

i'd pay off my mortgage & my business loan. then invest the rest. i'm a simple man.

I would pay off all debt,then live comfortably doing as I wish.I would travel,go to all the concerts I wanted to.no matter where in the world they were.Buy a bunch more cds.build a recording studio and help struggling musicians make it in the business.

Fill up my cd collection, travel to Germany/Japan (for starters ). Hook up the family !!!!

After I paid off all of my friends and family their debts....

I would start a label that specialized in the reissue of long gone rare music releases on cd...

I would also open a fantastic cd shop.

Then I would start wearing tissue boxes on my feet and stop cutting my nails....

I hope not much would change. For the most part I am a simple man. Pay off debt, buy a house, new car. Spread the love around to others.

so now, my wife would probably leave me for someone better & end up with half or more of everything i have, so i'd give my portion to a needy charity.


nah, i'd probably blow it on hookers & booze.

I'd start by paying off all of my debts.

I'd then give $100,000 each to my family and friends. I'd also set up accounts for my children with $250,000 seed money to be accessable to them only one their 21st birthdays.

I would next find several shelters for orphaned children, abused kids, etc and donate $1 mil each to them.

I would then travel to all the places in the world that I'm dying to visit.

During all of this, I'd be filling the holes in my CD collection, and feverishly hunting down obscure thrash bands that the world must know about!!!

A million dollars is nothing these days. I'd pay of my debts, invest the rest.
