| Nice cover for Priest, bad cover song inside, as well as a mediocre Lp. | |

| I have both albums but prefer the JP. Dunno why RAM IT DOWN gets such a bad rap even after all these years, I love that album... it's like the "red headed stepkid" of their '80s discography. OK, maybe it wasn't such a hot idea to cover "Johnny B. Goode" but the rest of it is a damn sight better than anything off of TURBO | |

Its the drum machine or drum machine sounding drums that turn me off from it. Drum machine or drum machine sounding drums. Say that 3 times fast. |

Say that 3 times fast. Hmmm... true, Dave Holland (a.k.a. Convicted Child Rapist) wasn't the most exciting drummer, that's for sure. From what I understand, his performance on the R.I.D. album HAD to be machine-augmented because it was so bad. Apparently Dave's mother had died during the recording process and he wasn't really "there" mentally after that.

I love "Ram It Down". I never could figure out why people slammed it. I even like the cover of "Johnny B. Goode" - it's FUN!!! I also like "Turbo" too. Different strokes ... different fokes. |

I actually don't mind the "Johnny" cover but I can see why a lotta people don't dig it. It's not exactly a Priest kinda song. The video with all the kids stagediving to it (!!) probably didn't help much either

| Ram It Down was a strange one, the metal was there but the production let it down and the cover of Johnny B. Goode was not great (i'm open to the idea of priest covering that song but they murdered a classic). I think the thing that let it down is the song writing, it was like 12 year olds wrote those silly lyrics. Still give it a spin every know and then and Blood Red Skies is a great song. | |

| I have loved this album since I bought it as a new release (many moons ago) and have to agree though that some of the lyrics are a little childish. Oh, well, it was the late 80's. Good times. good times... | |

It's DEFINITELY an 80s album! Seriously though, this album has some very strong songs on it. "Blood Red Skies" is one of my favorite Judas Priest songs ever recorded!! |
