| I love vinyl but even I've recently had the revelation that CDs are so much less finicky & easier to store. Kinda just started relegating my LP purchases to "only my favorites" territory, and went back to the CDs for more completionist, collector-type purchases. But I suppose this overall trend is still just folks moving away from physical media in general. I mean, I frequently get made fun of (lightheartedly, usually, lol) for having a collection of movies and CDs. | |

| Vinyl on a turntable was a necessity as a 70's So. California stoner/surfer kid, but just ambience to whatever this old fart is doing as of late (in the background). I am currently selling off my vinyl by label to someone in Boze-Angeles (Bozeman) after I listen to it one last time. Dude is aware of market decline, but stated "hard rock/metal is an exception" and even told me that most of what I've sold him is worth more... He comes to me on my terms/timeframe, 3 + hours each way... I still love it _________________ | |

| I attribute this to the cost of living in general.
The cost of living is going up, yet people's paydays are not.

The cost of living is going up, yet people's paydays are not. That could be a good possibility.

| They said CD’s were dead or dying five or more years ago.
I still buy them on a regular basis!

| I've been all CD, all the time since the early 90s. I'm too old and set in my ways to change formats again. Therefore I never got on board with the vinyl resurgence. I'm not surprised to hear that LP sales have hit a wall, though. That bubble was bound to burst eventually. I made a joke around here years ago about how the vinyl fad will die out as soon as all the hipsters buying LPs have to move to new apartments and they find out how heavy boxes of LPs are _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I only buy vinyl of my favorite artists at this point. The rest of my buying is CDs. In my mind, I buy physical media to support the band because they are earning virtually nothing from streaming. My hope is a CD nostalgia wave happens at some point and I can sell my thousands of CDs for ton of cash. | |

| I have noticed the price for new cd's are regularly 16-20 dollars these days. Older popular used stuff oftentimes have decent deals. I have a few records, but no record player. They look cool to display but spending 35-45 dollars on something I can't even play is not happening. | |

| Definitely a cost of living thing! Metalheads are too hard headed to stop collecting them because of the physical product and also because people love the vinyl. It's just a lull in the system at this point.
