I’m completely aware of Celtic Frost and I’ve heard a handful of their songs… but unfortunately I’ve never listened to a whole album or became enough of a fan to know enough to rank their work.

The only thing I know for sure is the controversy over Cold Lake and its low rating with the fans. The video for Cherry Orchards… Laughing very hard

Did a quick rundown of a couple albums. Great stuff!

I already knew they were a big influence on some of my favorite bands like Coroner and Sepultura. I totally see why. Very dark and heavy! Much better than Venom in my opinion. Definitely a “proto” death metal sound. The Buzzsaw guitar tone is very cool.

I would say Morbid Tales and To Mega Therion are the prime releases.

I am not a fan of Celtic Frost and it's tough to have an opinion on full albums. I've of course played their tunes randomly, even if nothing made me get into them more deeply. But to be honest, the hate Cold Lake gets online makes me want to dive into it more.

If it's anything like with Onslaught, when they did the "one commercial album" with Steve Grimmett, then it's probably more to my tastes than anything else they did.
