2022 is coming to an end, and what a year it has been for metal.
Have you started working on your top list for the year?
I am still expecting about 7 studio albums before i start working on mine.
In the meantime, i am revisiting all 48 albums i have already picked up.
N.1 of the year almost confirmed.

I've been thinking about it. But haven't made it any type of definitive list yet.

No, ask me in like 2026.
In fact, I could probably start thinking about a top albums of 2017 or something soon enough.
I am just slow to both acquire all interesting releases in a year, and to actually digest them enough to come up with a solid opinion I can stand behind.

According to my RateYourMusic profile, I've only added nine 2022 releases to my collection this year... and of those, one was a reissue of an old album (Jones Street, Out Of The Gutter), I didn't particularly care for The Cult's Under The Midnight Sun, and the new Scorpions, while not terrible, was kinda "meh."
Therefore trying to compile a "best of" for this year would be a pointless exercise for me, cuz I didn't accumulate enough stuff to choose from.
For whatever it's worth, I probably listened to the new Queensryche, Stryper, and Megadeth more than any of the other 2022's I picked up.

Well, in this case, your favourite album of 2022 would do !

I haven't made my YouTube video yet (I will do that in February), but a few albums have been promised to make the list.
Detherous - Unrelenting Malevolence, Riot City - Electric Elite, and Schizophrenia - Recollections of the Insane will make the list for sure.

You like Ghost? They've been on my radar for awhile. But I've yet to dive in. How is the new one?

I really like Ghost. Plenty of good releases and great in concert. As for the new release, I'd give 4 out of 5 stars.

Put the camera closer to where you are. That video is like 85% white wall.
But never edit out the part where you frantically try to get in front of the camera. That is entertainment.
