Candlemass for me. I probably would have gone Celtic Frost, but just not enough albums for me to put them above Candlemass.

CHASTAIN or CJSS. I bought “ Praise The Loud “ when it first came out. The album was loud too. Louder than average albums. The singer was piercing. Lead solos ablaze. Still love it ! David has quite the catalogue too. Prolific. He never quite got his due. Satriani did. Steve Vai did. Etc

Chastain was the other band I was thinking of mentioning!

Another nostalgic pick for me, Canned Heat!
They played at a bunch of my old man's bike club picnics in the summertime at this place in the Santa Cruz Mts. We'd do that, then catch the hill climb in Hollister. Still listen to them tonz, and even seen them in Sturgis a few years back.
Celtic Frost is just a hair or three behind

The singer was hanging with us (at a Denny’s) after a show. I remember he seemed like a nice guy and very talkative. He played in his band with Dan Delucie, who was friends and a former bandmate of our friend Perry Grayson (Destiny’s End). In other words… it was a small world in the local metal scene network.
