Impossible for me to answer!
Because each band has a different style and dynamics. For example… Sabbath needed to be only Tony Iommi (while Judas Priest works best as a two guitar band).

What about the “three” guitar thing like 2000’s Maiden?

It technically works… but it’s not really necessary IMO.

I kinda agree with that, even though most of my favorite bands have two guitarists in them.

Huh!? I guess it just depends. Although I do agree current Iron Maiden is just silly with three.

I thought Vengeance Rising was a favorite of yours? Speaking of Crescent Shield… I remember hanging out with the singer (Michael Grant R.I.P.) after a concert. He was a nice guy.

I like VR, but they aren't Pantheon-level.
