| Anyone heard this progressive thrash band? I have a promo copy of "Continuum" which is quite good. Need to find a proper copy.

| I had a promo copy of that disc some time ago but didn't think it was a keeper so I traded it off. The music was OK but the vocalist didn't really fit the material IMHO. His voice wasn't powerful enough. I kept sittin there going "Come on, man, get MEAN!" | |

| They aren't pure thrash for sure. They are sort of a blend of progressive metal and thrash. I know what you mean though. His voice is more fitted for a prog rock band than a thrash band. I too listened to this when I received it some time ago and threw it to the side. This weekend I was clearing out a bunch of old promos and this one caught my attention again so I brought it to work today. It's sounding real good this time around.

| I'll have to dig up the review I wrote of that one for Detritus and post it here... to be honest it's been a while since I got rid of the disc so I can't really recall what they sounded like. I just remember sayin "this band would be killer if they had a better vocalist" | |

| I have their "trinity" album for sell/trade. Its a pretty good album, but I don't listen to it enough to justify keeping it. | |

| My friend knows those guys and i've seen their show before. They were much better when they were known as Psychosis. | |

| They and Steel Prophet were on pretty much every tribute album back in the late 90s. | |

| I don't blame them. Dwell paid us $600 for one track each on the Testament Tribute ($400) and the 2000 A Second Coming ($200) compilations. They were getting paid to be on those tribute CDs and they were getting their name out there at the same time.

| I don't blame them either, but it just seemed a bit excessive to me. But they were able to do an admirable job on the ones they did. A band around here recorded a song for a Dwell tribute and they said it was pretty much one of the few times they have made a real profit doing anything in the music industry. | |

| Man, this is one of my favorite prog bands. I absolutely love them! They aren't thrash, like it's been mentioned, but there is a whole lot of it in there. Ult, they're on the Testament tribute CD Ultimatum is on, too. They do a great cover of..."Into The Pit," I think (at work, not sure off the top of my head).
Anyway, checking Sentinel Steel's used section. Den seems to have a few copies of their Cloned EP for $5.88. Well worth grabbing, and hard to find. |

| They used to go by the name Psychosis years ago. I have their album Lifeforce that was released under that name, and it is more of a power/thrash album. They went much more progressive (still a lot of thrash leanings) when they changed their name to Prototype. _________________ You're cancer, you can't be the answer, you're killing me

| So I finally got a copy of Lifeforce by Psychosis (screw you, SideShow!). Anyway, it's a fantastic little EP. They re-recorded "Cold Is A Dead God" for their last album, and that song had a thrashier feel to it. Not surprising, then, that Lifeforce is basically a thrash album. The first track, "Twist Of Faith," sounds like early Testament! Great EP! Glad I finally snagged a copy. I have Prototype's original Seed demo on the way, too. I have it already on the Cloned EP, but it'll be cool to have the original tape. Now if I could find the original Psychosis demo my Psychosis/Prototype collection will be complete. |

| http://www.myspace.com/psychosisthrash Pffft! Looks like the guys are playing/recording under the Psychosis name again. And selling the Lifeforce EP for $10. Why did I pay $25? Dammit! Haha. |

| I listened to Trinity late last week and quite like it. I agree with the assessment that they are not thrash. While some thrash elements are present, I'd consider this full blown prog metal with thrash leanings. Now, I would call Psychosis thrash though from what I just heard. | |

| I got their Continuum album, and i think it`s very good. Didn`t grab me on the first listen, but this is a grower. They have some new demo songs on their Myspace site. Sounds like the next album will be killer!! | |

| I got the Psychosis demo tape now, too. One of the guys in the band sent it to me for free. Way cool. |

| Prototype has become a favorite band of mine over the last year or so. Both albums are great. I hear complaints about the singer, but I have no idea why. He's great and fits the music well. It took me a little effort to get into them, but once I did I was totally hooked.
If anyone is checking them out, give them a chance to sink in. It is very rewarding.
I recently ordered a shirt of their that says "what you believe might not be". I really like the quote. I think it can apply to any beliefs. Also, they are so metal that they put the artwork very low in the back, so it is "long hair friendly". Unfortunately for me, I now have short hair, but I still think it's cool. | |
