This is related to the other thread I started, but for the heavy rock and metal bands. The songs can also feature very heavy parts as long as the overall feel is melodic or mellow.
Pantera - Cemetery Gates Pantera - Hollow Testament - The Ballad Testament - The Legacy Testament - Trail of Tears Overkill - The Years of Decay Overkill - Soulitude Judas Priest - A Touch of Evil Tourniquet - Officium Defunctorum Flotsam & Jetsam - Escape From Within Alice In Chains - Down in a Hole Iced Earth - Watching Over Me

Some good ones mentioned here! Troublezone, the guitar solo in Return to Serenity ranks as one of my favorites. Good mention! Two that came to mind for me was Nevermore's "Sentient 6" (also Believe in Nothing, but that one's been mentioned) and Kamelot's "Don't You Cry." To be fair, Kamelot is not as heavy as many of the bands mentioned here, but that tune is far mellower than much of their material.

Yeah in my opinion it’s their best release. Don’t know if you order from eBay or not but there’s a copy for sale for $28 with shipping.
