Trouble’s first 3 albums are doom, but they changed their style closer to a psychedelic heavy rock with a tinge of doom. They are still one of my favorites!

Check out the first 3 albums from Trouble. Especially Psalm 9 and Run to the Light (if you like the more uptempo stuff).

Evil bastard! Making me chose between these two bands is hard, but I went with Candlemass. They have the edge on overall albums, and for me I think they are better at writing really great lyrics. Both great bands though, hard choice to make.

The only album where it bothers me is Ancient Dreams, other than that I love the vocals.

Trouble, I guess. I only own their debut and the Skull but both are great. I have only one Candlemass, Tales Of Creation, but that's not enough for me to compare.

Not a big fan of doom... Being a thrash fan, I like my tempo SLIGHTLY faster
The only doom band I ever really got into was Cathedral.

Candlemass by just a smidge. Both bands are cool, but I guess I went with Candlemass because they've been consistently doom throughout. Trouble's no slouch though. I dig all their stuff too.

I saw Trouble open up for King Diamond in the mid 80s. I think it was the “ Abigal “ tour. Boston. The Channel. 500 people. I walked in. Trouble began. I was floored. It was like seeing Black Sabbath live. I was holding a beer. Transfixed. Song after song. What an ambience. I’d love to know who King thought was his top ten best openers.
