Those are the bands i have been listening to a lot lately.
Talk about a journey back to where it all began.
Which would get your vote?

Led Zeppelin followed closely by Rush. The other bands I couldn't really care less about.

I voted for Purple as I listen to them the most of those nowadays.

Went with Nazareth. Always loved their sound.

I need to check out more Nazareth. Saw them way back when. LOUD. Front row. Hair of the Dog was huge with me as a kid.

That was a hard choice, but went with Rush. If not for them, I probably never would have discovered the other ones. Deep Purple would probably be a close second, followed by Uriah Heep.

Would go Led Zeppelin, followed closely by Rush, Deep Purple, Budgie. Never got into Uriah Heep or Nazareth.
Deep Purple. Responsible for about 90% of the heavy metal sound we all love.
IMO Rush doesn't belong here. They're their own thing, their own genre, their own style. I would give them the award for best Rush band, despite the lack of competition.
Led Zeppelin for me too because I find their sound more interesting than the others. Zeppelin's music is all over the genre map and some of it isn't even classifiable in ANY genre.

I like Uriah Heep the most. They have a bit more melancholic and dark edge to their music, I think. Nothing beats Deep Purple's April (mainly its first 4 minutes though) but overall they have more songs I enjoy.
