Happy New Year everybody! What were your favorite new releases of 2019?

My top ten:

Only ones I can think of that I bought this year that I liked were:

Overkill, Wings of War
Flotsam and Jetsam, End of Chaos
Opeth, In Clauda Venenum
Tool, Fear Inoculum
Power Trip, Opening Fire: 2008-2014

I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple, but that's all that comes to mind right now. Possessed is still my favorite release this year. Great album far as I'm concerned.

2020 is shaping up to be a good year for metal. New albums by Heathen, Dark Angel, Defeated Sanity, Hemotoxin, Morfin, Shok Paris, Decrepit Birth, Haunt, Exodus, and Sacrifice are in the pipeline.

Haha I was just about to start the same topic!

I just received three new 2019 releases: Wretch, Grim Reaper and Toxikull. Will spin those before making my final list. Busy year indeed.

So far my favourite has been Hollow's Between Eternities of Darkness.

I'm trying to get my list together. I should hopefully have it up soon.

Forgot to add Legion of the Damned, Slaves of the Shadow Realm. That was a killer release too. Holy shit, plus the new Candlemass album, Door to Doom. Only my second favorite album this year lol And if you count live albums, might as well throw in King Diamonds new one in the mix.

I found out about Shok Paris coming out with new music recently via Facebook. Heathen is one of my favorite bands ever, and I saw pictures of the band working on the album in the studio recently.

I really enjoy Angel Witch's new release. I found out about them coming out with new music while talking to my friend Tyson over the summer. I ordered the album not long after its release.

Really cool news. I was listening to Inferior to None over the weekend.

I only bought a handful of 2019 releases this year, but I'd say my favorite was Queensryche's The Verdict.

As discussed here on occasion, Inferior to None is THE holy grail of thrash records.

I am gonna need to get that Inferior to None cd. Not an easy task it seems.

The boots are mostly just fine, really. I've talked with Guido (frontman) about it and he said the sound quality is identical. Mine sounds great (it's a HEAVY FUCKING RECORD). The art suffers a bit, however.

I usually avoid bootlegs unless they are the only ones available for sale. This is the case with the first four Pantera albums. The russian bootlegs i picked up on eBay look, sound and play like legit ones.

Since Inferior to None is only available as a boot, i guess this is my only option then. Still hope the album gets a proper re-release one day.
