You know, the '91 album Let it Scream with Corabi? Holy crap, guys. I was mentioning the Corabi Crue album to a buddy who hates Motley Crue (he admits to never hearing of that album, btw). It got me to thinking of Let it Scream, an album I haven't touched since the late 90's on cassette. So I took a trip down memory lane.
WOW. It still holds up! Despite a too-borderline-slick mix which, while bright and punchy, lacks body, the album is a tightly-assembled smoker. I always preferred Bruce Boulliet over Paul Gilbert in Racer X and he shines here. And not just in terms of lead, but also rhythm choices. Each song just sounds like a focused package--not a single misstep. Also led me down the rabbit hole of Hollywood Records--an early division of Disney.
Still my favorite tune from the album, this song really delivers in its extended jam outro, while the verses are obvious inspiration for Crue's Uncle Jack:

One of those forgotten gems that is worth listening to still. Kind of like Blue Murder imo.
I've always loved Corabi's voice and I'm one of the few who likes his turn with the Crue. I also dig his work with Union but this Scream album just does nothing for me; I find the songs boring.

I’m aware of this band, but I never bought the album or heard it (other than the song with the video).
I know Bruce Bouillet from his previous band Racer X.

Same as Toho, I really like Corabi, but The Scream is just something I've never been able to get into. I mean, it works as background music for me when I'm doing something else, but I can't think of any of their songs that I would play by choice on a regular basis.

I'd never heard of John Corabi till he joined the Crue. After that I kept hearing what a great album "Let It Scream" was so when I found a used CD a few years ago I was like "woohoo!"
...however, it never grabbed me by the 'nards ... I dunno, it just sounded like lukewarm Aerosmith worship to me. I ended up trading it off some time later.
I'm sure John's a nice guy n' all but I've heard his work with Crue, Scream and Union and I've never seen what the big whoop was about.

I'm much more of a Racer X guy.
This sounds well performed but could be any faceless 80s hard rock band IMHO.

I haven't spun this in awhile. I'm going to dig it out and give it a listen.

Gave it a spin yesterday. Like FF said there's some Aerosmith worship in there. But there are good songs on that album. I'm surprised that some of you dislike it as much as you do.
I would encourage most people here to give it a second spin. Yeah, it's derivative, though that goes for practically every other decent band of that era. Like I said, there's a searing energy here that keeps the motor going.
I enjoy me some Racer X too, but this sounds spicier in some ways.

Most bands are derivative, but do they do it well? The Scream had a great hook in most of their songs.

I listened to it very recently, I enjoyed it but it seemed to be like it was an attempt to update what Aerosmith and Bad Company had done years earlier. Nothing wrong with that since I like that type of music, great songs, amid other songs that are good but are only distinguished by Corabi's killer rock n roll voice.
