YOB - Tell me about this band

Something called YOB is headlining over VoiVod on Tuesday [what's wrong with this picture?]. I know nothing about them. Listening to their latest album right now and I truly do not dig it. Might be an early night. Am I missing something? Tell me your deepest and darkest feelings about this band.

OK - Half through their latest album and it is making me question why I ever became a metalhead to begin with! Depression, droning, no-talent garbage.

I thought they were co-headlining. But it should be a cool tour. I agree Voivod should headline.

I tested them out a few years ago. Blech. Slow, boring drone. I don't get 'em either.

The only YOB I'm familiar with has a B in front of it.

YOB is cool to get stoned to with the headphones on, maybe do some writing. Catharsis (album) is one big scary wall of sound. I enjoy bands like Sleep and Sun O)) (did I do that right?) better but YOB has this element of impending doom that make them unique.

Keep in mind this music is all about soundscaping rather than craft. Great ancient cathedral halls of atmosphere, gobs of aural transportation. This stuff isn't meant to melt your face like, I dunno, Overkill. It's meant to melt your brain.

YOB, THE MOST BRAIN-MELTING BAND ON THIS GOD-FORSAKEN ROCK. That would be a killer start to a press kit LOL.
