I know this has been done before. But, New Day - New Poll!
Best MSG Vocalist. Or. maybe not even "Best", but your fav. I love Robin McAuley and saw him perform twice in the late 80's with MSG. But, Gary Barden absolutely slays the MSG discography. My opinion. What is yours?

I have to agree with you about Gary Barden. So he has my vote.

I voted Doogie White; I only really know him from his work with Cornerstone but I thought his performances on those albums were stellar so I can't see how his MSG work would be any different.
I also could have voted for Bonnet or McAuley but I have no idea who the other two guys are.

I hate you for this poll!
I'll pick Graham Bonnet followed closely by Robin McAuley.

I picked Robin McAuley mainly because I only have some MSG with him on the mic.

I think Robin has the better voice (and I love his voice) but like Unc said, Barden crushes it and I prefer the early MSG stuff the most. I like it all a lot, but the Barden era is most classic. Vote cast for GB.

Good poll, went Doogie but McAuley is close too. Doogie tried out for Maiden when Bruce left and I wonder how that would've gone?

Not too familiar with MSG. I only own a best of. Which would be his heaviest albums?

I am a total Bonnet-head. But, I like the songs that Barden sang on better. Now, if you want to compare Impellitteri singers.......

The first 2. Both are called Michael Schenker Group due to different countries of release, or something like that. But they are two different albums. The third, Assault Attack is usually hailed by media and fans as the best release, and it is great, but the first two from '80 and '82 are my faves. The double LP One Night at Budokhan is killer as well. Hope this helps.

Voted for Gary. I dunno, outside of the '91 MSG, I'm not familiar with the others enough except for Bonnet and I've never been a fan of his style (sorry assault_attack).

I have never cared much for Graham B, no matter the band. Barden is the voice of MSG (IMHO) Yet... still give a thumbs up to Robin Mc. Different band<---also my opinion.

Glad to know I'm not the only one. I just find him terribly boring and lacking soul. Too grating. Makes me think of a cross between a poor man's Paul Stanley and Yellow Brick Elton John? Maybe?

I like Bonnet well enough, but I always feel like he is straining to sing. If that makes any sense? I don't really know how else to express it. Also, I think he works best in bands like Alcatrazz and his brief stint in Rainbow. I don't like when he steps out of his element and into Metal territory with someone like Impellitteri.

Bingo! I couldn't stand him in Rainbow however, though his voice was waaaaay more suited to that style than Impellitteri.
I didn't even know he was in Impellitteri. That's like Hiring JJ Abrams to direct a James Cameron script.

Oh, C'Mon. That first 1.5 output from Impellitteri with Graham on it is the best thing Chris ever did.

Just looked and Rob Rock was on the S/T EP. I thought Graham was on that. But, Stand in Line still kicks ass.

Honestly I've never heard 'em together, it just sounds like an odd couple. I'll check 'em out. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I like Gary Barden, but Graham Bonnet for me, the guy has an incredible range, can sing with a great deal of power. Plus 'Assault Attack' is my favorite MSG album.
Robin McAuley, talented guy but those are albums he did with Schenker strayed too much into the AOR/pop metal category for my taste. That does not mean they are terrible albums because they are not, but I felt there were enough bands doing that style of music already.
