I went across the river today to visit my favorite beer store and popped in an ancient flash drive I ripped random songs to a long time ago.
This is one that came up and I had to rack my brain to remember the artist. It's the now-defunct Chicago band Lynam and that's too bad because this band put out 2 quality releases before packing it in. This is from their second one:

Citizen Cope-Heroin And Helicopters - walked into Independent Records looking to score some vinyl and this album was playing and immediately dug it. Never listened to him before that so I asked the lady working who it was and snagged the vinyl. Love this album. To think I woulda never given him a listening to otherwise.

Lynam is a great band! I wish they were from Chicago, but I think they are actually from Birmingham. "Enemy" is a great song. It's actually what first alerted me to the band, as Tom Keifer from Cinderella does the slide guitar solo on that song. The guys from Hinder do the "gang vocals" on that one too.
Also, Lynam did actually put out new music in 2015 when they released an EP called "Bombshell." Worth checking out!
Before that, Jacob Lynam was singing for Steven Adler. The album "Back from the Dead" that they put out in 2012 is awesome.

You are correct sir! My bad; I thought they were from Chicago for some reason (probably because a lot of my favorite bands that go defunct are from The Windy City). But you are right, Lynam was from Birmingham, AL.
Still a great song though...
I'll have to round up that Back From The Dead EP.
