Not sure what I was expecting... Not a bad tune but not metal. Reminds me of mid or late 80's pop rock. For some reason kind of reminded me of Richard Marx.

Exactly what I posted on the HoM Facebook page. It's Nickelback. Haha.

I don't think I've ever heard this band before so I had no pre-conceived ideas of what that clip would sound like but after listening to it, I'm sorry to say the Nickelback comparisons seem appropriate.
That song isn't the worst thing I've ever heard but it's really generic, "modern", hard rock (aka Nickelback).

The "Nickelback" comparison is the first thing I thought of too. It's not an awful song, it's just super mellow and wouldn't get any spins from me. It's funny, I have been checking out his 1980's and early 90's stuff online recently and will probably pick some albums up soon. But, this won't be one of them.

I only have his self-titled and Saints And Sinners, and both are pretty damn good 80s rock albums. Nothing like this new Nickelback song.

The first one, especially, is a good ol romp. Dig S&S, but the first one if very rockin.

Yeah, those are the two I have been listening to online. I stumbled across some reviews for them on sleazeroxx recently and realized I had totally forgotten about the guy. If this is the case of the lead off single being different (or not representative of the album as a whole) then I will rethink a purchase. I wonder, though, what makes him think that this will really sell? Like we have all said before, the only people interested are those who were fans back in the day, and this is going to appeal to those old fans who want a Hard Rock/ Metal sounding album. Also, the cover is misleading, It looks like it's hiding one monster of a Meta album to me, but it appears to be anything but that.
