Been meaning to comment on this but I'm always in such a damn rush. Anyway, you found gold DH. These guys are crushing with a killer classic metal-prog-doom sound. There's a ton of menace in their sound that's smoothed some by textural twists and turns. That single above left me breathless. Been listening to Prelude to Sorrow on my work trips and I'm addicted. I could nitpick certain things (took me awhile to adjust to the odd mix; not much of a fan of neoclassical shred though the guitarist here is fluent in adjacent styles as well), but there's way too much to appreciate here to let such things interfere. One of those rare bands where I first listen with no expectations and it turns out to be album of the year. And the vocalist (now Sanctuary, or so I've heard) is on fire!

The vocalist is with Sanctuary and the guitar player has been picked up by Iced Earth. I agree about the neoclassical shred, i'm ok with it but it can be overdone but these guys managed to incorporate so much good stuff it works.

They've been on my radar for a little bit...so thanks for the reminder! I need to dig deeper and see if they can take some of my money.

The singer used to live here in Vegas but he wasn't very good in the bands he was in. Witherfall and his fill in work with Sanctuary seems to show he got tons better. I'm gonna get this new Witherfall!
