Wow. I knew he was getting up there in age but this is still a bit of a shock. He's given us some pretty good movies over the years. RIP, good sir.

Same here Freddy, I think I watched Cannonball run hundreds of times during the summer on HBO when I was a kid.

Really sucks, I liked him. He was one of my favorite actors as a kid growing up. Smokey and the Bandit is probably my favorite, next to Deliverance. Hooper is another one I watched at least fifty times. If you've never seen it, it's a really good fun movie. Has a funny bar fight scene in it, and I'm pretty sure he did most of his own stunts in it.

I watched " Deliverance " and " The Longest Yard " -

To me, back then, he was right up there with Knevel and Ali -

I was in Florida once - and he was going to be on stage -
just him - talking about his life - photos on a big screen - etc
I wanted to go - then was discouraged by someone - then didn't.
The next day - it was on the front page of the town's daily paper.

I even remember him doing a Twilight Zone -
I think they were looking for a next Marlon Brando episode.
