My first wife banged the guitarist from Kingdom Come [thus, the title of this poll. haha]. Anyways...... Kingdom Come were fairly, or not, labeled a Led Zep rip-off on the first album. But Lenny Wolf never quit and they are still kicking ass 30 years later. Anyone have a fav album from these guys?

The only one I've heard in it's entirety is the self titled one and saw them perform at the Monster Of Rock after it's release so it gets the nod for me. It's a very good album.

The only two albums I care about are the first two. I enjoy both of them equally, but the songs l love on In Your Face, slightly eclipse their s/t.

I like In Your Face the best. I liked the songs better and they were not as blatantly Zeppelin as their first album.

Love the first 3, but the S/T narrowly gets the nod as it was one of the albums that ruled my summer of '88.

I only have the "Millennium Collection" best-of by KC, which combines songs from the first two albums, so I guess my answer is... both of those.

I basically only know the song "Do You Like It", so for that reason I choose the 2nd album.

Had the first one on cassette when it was new. I can remember the radio station saying something like "We have a new band coming up and I can't say who it is but they sound like Zeppelin". They played Get It On and would not say who it was. I called and guessed Great White but they said "nope, not them and I can't tell you who it is". This went on for about a week where they would not announce who it was. When they finally did I went out and bought the cassette. Loved it! No idea what happened to that tape but about a year ago I found a copy on vinyl for 99 cents and picked it up. First time I had heard it in years and still thought it was awesome so I picked the first one for the poll. Now as for your first wife I sure hope it wasn't while you were married to her.

Do they have any other songs as good as "Get it on" or "Do you like it?" Those are great ones.

Their sound started changing quite a bit after the first three albums. If you like those songs, I would check out Lenny Wolf's pre-KC band, Stone Fury:

Hmmmm. The Stone Fury album I had was so keyboard-y there was hardly any guitar, that one's different ..... I hadn't heard anything by Kingdom Come after In Your Face so I couldn't have picked, but I'm listening now ....

Did your wife bang the guitarists....or guitarist.... inquiring minds want to know - lol -
I really liked the band - my first introduction - was a snowstorm - had to drive 30 miles to get home - 10 am or so - someone gave me s/t cassette - that was it. Instant fan.
Their next follow up release was just as cool.
Hands of Time - I loved. Bad Image. Then I drifted away from them. Bought their CD's - and still admire - the composition structure and style.
I saw them open up for Warrant. Small 500 person club. They rocked in such a super cool free 80's way !

With a sound that was thought by many to be highly derivative of Led Zeppelin's, there was a backlash from critics, with the band being dubbed "Kingdom Clone" in the press.
"Obviously it can get to the point where it gets past being a compliment and it can be rather annoying, when you've got things like Kingdom Come, actually ripping riffs right off, that's a different thing altogether." — Led Zeppelin's guitarist and producer Jimmy Page commented in 1988
Irish rock guitarist Gary Moore however went one step further, with the track "Led Clones" from his After the War album. Moore with Ozzy Osbourne on lead vocals, pokes fun at bands such as Kingdom Come on the track, criticizing their blatant use of Led Zeppelin's sound and image.
Vocalist Lenny Wolf further inflamed the situation in an interview with Kerrang magazine where he alleged to have never heard of Led Zeppelin.
Wolf has been adamant that his and Kingdom Come's greatest influences were The Beatles and AC/DC, particularly the Bon Scott era. Danny Stag is on record as having said that his biggest influence was Jimi Hendrix.
These claims are backed up by the cover of the Beatles classic "Across the Universe" from Ain't Crying for the Moon and the hard rocking tribute "Bon Scott" from the same album.
Years later, Wolf would say that the comparisons were "unjustified," yet "we took it as a compliment and were excited."
