Well, maybe not far left or right per se... but there is a constant battle between conservative values in legislation and liberal "progressive" views.

That kinda shit happens in every administration. Whichever party holds the POTUS, the other one bitches and whines for 4-8 years. I swear, people ran Obama up the flag pole every day for 8 years...and he was at least an intelligent, aware, mature man regardless of what you may thought of his policies. The same happened to GWB as well, though he didn't come off quite as intelligent (haha). By all accounts, he had a good heart and treated people well. Dolt 45 is simply horrific...immature and imbecilic to the bone. I can't say I 100% disagree with some of the things he touts, but he's such a repulsive human being it literally makes me angry that we got to a place as a country where someone like him is now Commander In Chief. It's a low-down, dirty shame.

True but I can't help feeling that in your country as well as mine the choices have never been this absolutely desperately terrible!

I've said before that if you put Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn in a room of 20 people and said that one of the 20 had to be PM then neither of them would figure in the voting, you would definitely vote for one of the others because it's obvious that neither of them have a clue.

The same could be said for Trump/Clinton. Out of a country of 300 million people, I would have thought that you could have got one that wasn't under investigation by the police/FBI etc...

Now he really is a left wing guy, old school socialist, I like a lot of what he has to say but he's like Bernie, ultimately never going to win due to people not believing that he can follow through with what he promises. There is some sketchy stuff within his own party that makes me not trust the guy but it's complicated.

I'm not getting involved in your gun control argument as it's not my business but I would like to point out that there are a massive number of countries that somehow manage to be free without the NRA
