Also to rank an album high just because it's longer is weird too I think both Life & Death and Powerslave are perfect 10/10. So just thinking Life & Death has equally good music, just more of it. | While I've done it several times before, it felt a bit weird ranking the albums this time. In general, I just like them all, and on any given day there's one that I'm bound to enjoy more than others for whatever reason. Looking forward to seeing Maiden live again in June. Their setlist is always a mystery until a given tour starts, which is one of the things I admire most about them. I wish more bands would do the kind of "history" tours that they do, plus actually promoting an album by playing at least half of the songs on it.

| Somewhere in Time Seventh Son
Then all post-reunion albums I've heard: BNW, TFF and AMLOAD. Equally good, more or less. And Piece of Mind.
Powerslave and Number will be here.
After that, No Prayer and Fear - both have some great songs (Judas Be My Guide for instance), but flooded with other stuff.
Everything else I don't care for. But I tried.

| I was losing interest when "Life After Death" came out and "Somewhere In Time" is the last studio release purchased. Seen them a few years back and it was a good show, but I'll stick with the gigs seen from 81 to 83 for my Maiden Memories. They were on fire then and the cream of the drop in metal (IMHDO). Leo gave me a gang of more recent-ish Maiden gigs and they pretty much give me enough exposure to what they are doing now musically. It is too hit n miss for me to even want to buy anything. You still rock Leo _________________ | |

| I will say that one thing I find unfortunate about the new releases is that there are hardly any memorable solos post-Brave New World. And that's despite the fact that many of the songs have multiple solos. Anytime I listen to one of the last four albums all the way through, I can't remember a single solo by the end of it. I suspect it is due to Kevin Shirley's method of having them do multiple live takes of the solos, and then piecing them together in the studio. | |

That sums it up nicely for me. I've never owned/heard either Blaze albums in full (just a few tunes), so I can't account for those. The other albums just depend on my mood. Sometimes I wanna hear Paul and the rawness of those albums. Sometimes I want classic Bruce and more recently, I've been appreciating the post-reunion, longer, proggier albums. They all have something that I like. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

I know it all boils down to personal choice, but this!!!! Well... Life & Death IS their best album Book of Souls is pretty good, too. I don't see what's wrong with that ranking. Some people prefer the more proggy and deliberate Maiden to the straight forward 80's stuff. Or it just could be that the old stuff gets, well, old, after awhile. I've been burnt out on Maiden a couple of times, but the new albums they release just keep reeling me back in, they're that exciting and fresh and different.

| Am I the only one blown away by the high ranking for AMOLAD? I didn't know it was ranked so highly. I like the album and think its #2 in the post glory years albums, but putting it at #1 or #2, I'm shocked. | |

For some reasons i never really could get into Killers, i liked the first album but somehow the sound and the production don't mix well with Di'Anno's voice and Wrathchild in my oppinion sounds a lot better with Dickinson.

| Never cared for Maiden. I like a lot of their songs, but never owned a cd by theirs. I did own three or four videos of concerts and music videos, A band obviously beloved by the entire world. I actually own Paul DiAnno CDs. This poll though has me thinking, it's time ! | |
