It's the punkier side of Sulo.
I think that's what I like about both him and Ginger Wildheart; they're both impossible to nail down to one style of music. Both all over the genre map.
This Sulo album is closer to his sound in The Crunch but without the influence of the drummer from The Clash (who is in The Crunch). He's also using lyrics from some poet I never heard of named Garry Johnson. The last several tracks are spoken-word pieces by said poet.

Rob Rock - Rage of Creation Rob Rock - Eyes of Eternity
Now I have all four Rob Rock albums.
I also got the new print of Savatage's Ghost in the Ruins. I had some time after work so I went to three different record stores. Those were the only three CDs I got. And not because I didn't see exciting stuff that's on my wishlist. It's because all brick and mortar stores these days follow the internet (Amazon, Ebay etc) very closely, and you won't make any massive bargain finds.
One store had almost everything I want, but they were on top of their game and had "out of print" stickers placed on all rarities. They had all three Liege Lord CDs, too. I think it was something like €79 a piece ($84). No thanks. All the Tony Martin Sabbath CDs too. Something like €35 for Cross Purposes, I think. It's a big enough city with a lot of heavy metal collectors, so they might realistically actually get those prices. I know for second hand copies it's a huge advantage to be able to hold and see the copy in your hand instead of blindly buying online.
Anyway, the Rob Rock discs were cheap (and new!), so I picked those up instead.
I miss the times when I could find a cheap second hand copy of an out of print rarity. Back when there was no internet to check supply and demand on music.
Of course I don't miss the times when it backfired and you ended up paying €14.99 for a CD worth maybe €2...

I was really surprised by how good his albums are. Picked most of them up like two years ago.

He's an odd bird for me. Because his albums are kinda all over the map stylistically, I don't listen to him that often. When he rocks, he rocks! But when he does the mellower stuff, I get sleepy. And sometimes he gets too funky for me. Or when he goes into programmed drum loops and electronica. Dude's an immense talent, but some of the genres just aren't my cup of tea. I like hard and heavy rock and Lenny does that well. I'm listening to 5 as I type this and I can already tell it's going into the "sell" pile after I rip it.
I could probably just make a decent playlist of only his rock music and be done with him.

I only tune out when the R&B stuff comes in. If it sounds like it could be a Bell Biv Devoe song, I'm out. I have the same problem with Gary Clark, Jr. Dude is amazing, until the chick singers come on and he goes full-blown pop R&B. It's bizarre.

I have the same problem with LPs now. We're in a smaller town with only one store left dedicated to music and they know the price on rare stuff. Ah well, they have to make money somehow.

That's good to hear - I have never even listened to these two before.
I'm playing Rage of Creation tonight, and it's certainly awesome! I'm through a couple of spins already and it's been good. I made a night out of it with some wine and free time away from the family.
In the Night is great, and if I read the booklet correctly it's Jake E. Lee playing. Judgment Day, Media Machine, Streets of Madness.. all great! But the quality doesn't really surprise me after owning his last two solo CDs. It's just heavy metal made the way I like it, basically. I don't understand how Rob managed to get in my brain and figure out the exact thing I like to hear, and then put that on record.

Visiting my Mom today, and my bro took me a few towns over to a cool "pop culture junk shop" (comics, used CDs/vinyl, video games, action figures, etc.) he's been meaning to show me for a while - cool little hole in the wall place with a lot of neat stuff, but everything is so haphazard (boxes upon boxes of stuff piled everywhere) that it would've taken me all day to do a halfway decent scrounge... there were a few racks of CDs I couldn't even get to cuz there was so much crap in the way. Still managed to come away with these for five bucks a pop:
Guns N Roses - GnR Lies and Use Your Illusion I Deep Purple - Slaves and Masters Sebastian Bach - Kicking and Screaming (w/bonus DVD) Cheap Trick - Heaven Tonight Ramones - All The Stuff (And More) Vol. 2
...plus, my 9 year old scored three Green Day CDs. That's my boy!

That's been the thing that keeps me from delving into his work too. If Gary (or Lenny) put out a full-on blues or rock album, I'd be all over it.

Have you ever checked out Sonny Landreth King? He was the guitar player on Hiatt's "Slow Turning" album and just now checking his Wiki page, apparently he's on the one you just acquired.
