I sure can't remember a year that claimed so many movie, music and athletic icons as 2016. Carrie Fisher, David Bowie and Muhammed Ali to name just one in each category and unfortunately there were a hell of a lot more.

it will be interesting what they do. I think right now they might be having second thoughts after killing off Solo.

Whatever they chose to do, I am sure that will do it with class, and it turns out she was cool with Star Wars fans. Never distanced herself from her most famous role. She was both delighted and bewildered by its ongoing popularity.

We should mention she was one hell of a writer, not only her books and plays, but was a script doctor who never seemed to be out of work.
