I didn't like his music much but the guy could definitely sing.
RIP

He was really hit and miss for me, maybe a little more miss, but I understood what his appeal meant to a certain pop audience. I loved both his versions of "Somebody to Love" by Queen and this one in particular, which still sends shivers up and down my spine.

I have that on the EJ DVD "One Night Only".
Like I said before, there's no doubt the guy could sing.

Sad news. One of the pop figures of the 80s and a very popular singer in my country. RIP.

This sucks, 2016 has been brutal. I remember when Wham was huge, I dismissed them as mindless insipid pop crap. Sure the guy could sing and was good looking, but did not care for the music.
A few years down the road, he releases the album 'Listen Without Prejudice' and I do just that. The guy not only is a great vocalist, but writes great songs, with hooks, melodies and lyrics that are much deeper than his image may have suggested. I went back and reevaluated his music, and became a fan, at least of his solo material.

Not a fan of his music which was a shame as I was a big fan of his voice. Probably my favourite song that he wrote was one that he wrote when he was 17

Yep! Same here. I totally dismissed Wham's music but when that song came out I was like "Whoa, this dude can really sing..." Plus I'm a fan of the "sexophone". I've just always found something sensual about the sound of a jazzy sax.

I was never a fan of his music. However one song of his I did enjoy (and I have no idea where it was from) was A Different Corner. I even owned the 45 of it. It may even be laying around here somewhere.
