Not sure if you guys know about this feller, but he died suddenly on the 11th. I'd been a fan of his band Magellan since 1991 and also his various Magna Carta Label projects.
This is probably his crowning achievement, the project Explorer's Club - The Age of Impact and you might have heard it:

A major part of my introduction to prog-metal came via the Magna Carta label, for which he featured quite prominently. I did lose track of what he got up to later on, but given the role he played in the development of my musical preferences, this is actually a more significant death for me personally than some of the other big names that we've lost this year.
