| I would put Prince in the same league as Bowie, in fact i wish those 2 collaborated together I think they would have had something awesomely unique | |

Fat Freddy can F.... Off? Apparently that's true, judging from Unc's comments in his other thread about Prince. (sigh) No respect, I tells ya. No respect at all. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I'm gonna go with 'Kinda Wish He Woulda Stuck Around'. I don't own any Prince, but he also didn't bother me by doing his thing.
I did like how he was a burr in the saddle to record companies. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

I did like how he was a burr in the saddle to record companies. This is me too. I don't own any Prince albums either but I do have several songs he wrote which other artists performed ("Manic Monday" by The Bangles and "Raspberry Beret" by Warren Zevon) are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Talented guy for sure but his music just didn't really click with me. But not something I would switch off either. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I added a vote in for the heck of it so you have three I respect Prince, not a huge fan but he was a great guitarist and a true musician unlike the pop shit he's lumped in with | |

| That's a good point.
While Prince was usually classified as a "pop artist" he was a helluva lot more talented than most people who get tagged with that label. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I voted Ultimate Respect as I had a few records/ tapes back in the day but unfortunately, didn't stick with the man in later years. Growing up a child of the 80's I often want to have more pop and rock stuff from that era but I know it would really only get the cursory or nostalgic listen every few years. | |

| His androgyny made him a major influence on Japanese bishounen fashion and visual kei. When he died, it kind of flew over my head instead of really shocking me, but not because I hate the man. I like "When doves cry", but it was mostly his image that played a big influence on the music I like. Yoshiki of X Japan said of him on Facebook: "I have always respected your artistic freedom. RIP" | |
