I've been into these guys for a while, and was wondering if anyone here dug them? The proto-metal thread in fun and games got me craving to jam their stuff. They're so heavy and mean for their era. I mean, the album Satori came out in 71 and starts with an ear-piercing scream that really jolts you. The atmosphere created is one of apocalypse and doom, but also freedom.
Together with Sabbath and early 70s Pentagram, they laid the roots for traditional doom metal, too.
Their first album is full of covers of kickass shit, "21st Century Schizoid Man," "Black Sabbath," "House of the Rising Sun." etc. All fuzzed out, heavy, and wild, with a horrendous Japanese accent.
And listen to the lyrics on Satori Part II, this is crazy cool.
"There is no up or down Your truth is your only master Death is made by the living Pain is only intense to you The sun shines everyday"
Give it a listen if you're into crazy heavy, trippy, progressive, doomy psychedelia bordering on heavy metal.

I wasn't a fan, but I might be now. That's some weird, wild stuff.
