Nice. Ever jam the album they did with Ry Cooder?
I have not, but it's on the list of stuff I need to check out. Cooder's contributions to Long Black Veil were some of the best on the album, though. I should someday get around to checking out his stuff as well.
I only knew his name from the soundtrack he did for Paris, Texas though, because I'm a fan of Wim Wenders' directing.
Ry Cooder has some good stuff and I recommend Paradise & Lunch and Chicken Skin Music just to get a feel and if you feel a Latin mood coming on check out Mambo Sinuendo, Chavez Ravine or The Buena Vista Social Club which in fact, I think you might enjoy the documentary. I think I've seen it on youtube.

Sick Eloy album.
And I actually read up on Ry Cooder last night and added Buena Vista Social Club to a spotify playlist (along with a couple of his solo albums, Paradise & Lunch and Chicken Skin Music included) to listen to later. I'll have to look out for that documentary.

That is an odd BB album. I've read that it was supposed to by a Brian Wilson solo album.

I've only heard it and Pet Sounds, and I think I like 'Love You' better than Pet Sounds. It is weird as hell, but I really dig the sound of it; the primitive synth-sounds, the concise track lengths with odd tempo-shifts and weird progressions, lyrics that don't seem to fit the tone of the songs, and the great vocal melodies, etc. I'd read that too, and it really does seem like a snapshot of Brian Wilson's mental state at the time: all over the place.
