I think this singer is one of the best out there. He glides in and out of falsetto effortlessly; the best at doing that since Freddie Mercury IMO.

The other one you may run across is "Tough Tenors" which was the first one released (though actually the second album recorded). It had a fairly recent OJC release, late 90s era. Their releases are split across two different labels, Jazzland and Prestige. Griffin had a contract with Jazzland, Lockjaw with Prestige, so they released their band albums on both labels to fulfill their respective contract obligations. The quality is consistently high throughout.  Their are also several live albums, the easiest way to get them is on CD though, most of the LPs are very rare and very expensive.  |
