Salems Lott

I saw a blurb about these guys on Sleeze Roxx. Thought they were interesting enough to share.

Salems Lott runs their own independent label Rēd Moon Rēcords, which released their self-titled debut EP with national and international physical/digital distribution. Upon its release, their debut EP received rave reviews and high demand in the US and internationally. Physical copies of the EP sold-out in Japan in just under two weeks.

Salems Lott is Monroe Black on lead vocals and lead guitar, Jett Black on lead guitar and vocals, Kay on lead bass and vocals, and Tony Corpse on drums.

Don't dismiss them based on their looks. Take a listen first. Then you can tell me how much they suck.

I've got their EP.  They are not a glam band at all despite their looks. They play speedy traditional metal. I have no idea what they are going for with their look, but it does set them apart.

Yea, I've been playing their stuff on YouTube all morning. I'm not sure I'm 100% sold on the vocalist just yet, but the music sounds cool. Way heavier than I'd expected. The look kinda throws you for a loop. They'd probably be pretty cool to see live.

The vocalist is the limiting factor here. I wish he had a stronger voice, but he's not awful or anything.

That's kinda what I was thinking. They're American (I think?), but they have an mid-80's Japanese glam look going for them.



And yea, the vocals aren't terrible or that bad, but he's the weak link.

A few months ago a member of this band was spamming the hell out of another forum I hang out on, posting the same "press release" and video over and over in each of the various sub-forums till they finally got sick of him and kicked his ass outta there.

I did listen to it and thought it was OK but nothin' I would run out and buy. The look is a whole'nother ball of wax. They look like a street fight between E-Z-O and the Vinnie Vincent Invasion.

This band bothers me. I've checked them out before. With a different vocalist they might be a mediocre current traditional style metal band.

As it stands, if I were to look at the band's appearance without hearing the music, I'd assume it was either a Peppermint Creeps kind of thing or a Murderdolls deal, neither of which have me enthused. The cover to their EP looks to me like a horrorcore rap album cover or something (it is not a good cover).
