I knew he was old but this is shocking to me. I'm a big fan of his work over his lifetime. Quite impressive I must say.

One of my all-time favorite actors. Â I've been a fan since I first saw Dracula Has Risen From The Grave when I was a kid. Â The sheer breadth of Lee's acting career is staggering, appearing in over 250 films. Â His acting career started in 1948 and there are still 2 films yet to be released that were filmed within the past year. Â
He was the last of the iconic horror actors and really, one of the few remaining movie stars from that era. Â R.I.P., thank you for making my life a much more entertaining one. Â

It's a promotional photo for the 1983 film "House Of The Long Shadows".

Another legend has left us. Apart in what was mentioned in that tribute picture, I also remember him as the voice of King Haggard in The Last Unicorn.

How were his heavy metal albums anyway?
I think I played one song on Youtube long ago that I didn't like much. But it's not like you can sample a concept album and acquire a proper opinion of it that way anyway.

I saw this yesterday. I'm happy the man had a nice long life and accomplished much. My earliest memories growing up in the 70's and of his roles then were "Return to Witch Mountain", "Airport 77", and the countless horror movies that he was in very early on. He was also one of the only bright spots in prequel Star Wars movies as Count Dooku/Darth Tyranus.

I've never heard it, other than maybe the first single, but it was understanding that it's a band playing symphonic heavy metal while he talks over it. He claimed to be a descendant of Charlemagne and I think the concept of the album was based on him. Not really my cup of tea.
