I was going to say, not a new band, just never hit in the U.S. You like big AOR rock this is your band.

They never really hit anywhere, they were big big Kerrang favorites and they made a habit of playing the rock club in my home town (Central Park ) but they were never my thing, or anyone else's really. Had they been American, I'm sure that they would have been bigger.

I would see them mentioned in 'Classic Rock' magazine quite frequently. Seeing how that's a British publication, I just assumed they were bigger over there, even though they've been around awhile.

They must have done something right to warrant 30 years of albums, EPs and live releases.

That's a little misleading as they split up for twelve years. They have released 11 albums and only two of them ever charted (the two that had serious major label push behind them) and they only hit the very lower reaches of the chart. Had they been successful, or 'big' here they wouldn't have got dropped by the label after the two record deal and gone onto an indie.
But to answer your question, yes they have done plenty right, they were talented guys and Epic records clearly believed in them because they spent a lot of money on them, it just never took of in the way that people hoped. I genuinely think that they would have done better had they worked their way up through the U.S scene.
