The Replacements will reissue their full catalog in an eight-disc collection, The Complete Studio Albums 1981-1990, on April 14 via Rhino Records.

The box set includes seven albums plus 1982 EP Stink, all issued during their original 12-year run after forming in Minneapolis in 1979.

The band split in 1991 but frontman Paul Westerberg and guitarist Tommy Stinson regrouped in 2012 for the EP Songs For Slim, a limited edition 10-inch vinyl release that was auctioned to raise money for former bandmate Slim Dunlap following a stroke.

THE COMPLETE STUDIO ALBUMS 1981-1990

Sorry Ma, Forgot to Take Out the Trash (1981)
Stink (EP, 1982)
Hootenanny (1983)
Let It Be (1984)
Tim (1985)
Pleased to Meet Me (1987)
Don’t Tell a Soul (1989)
All Shook Down (1990)

The Replacements 640x640

Not sure how many fans are here, but I've been a casual fan for some time. If the price is right, this might be just the ticket to fill in those gaps in my collection.

Yea, I've picked up a couple albums that way, usually at flea markets or used bins. I'm more partial to their later, more melodic material. The earlier punkier stuff is ok in small doses, but I've been hesitant to get an albums worth of material, if that makes sense. If I can get all their albums in one fell swoop, I might just do that. We'll see. Pricing will definitely be a deciding factor.

My friend's band used to cover 'B*stards of Young', which kinda introduced me to the band. That and Paul Westerberg's solo songs on the Singles movie soundtrack.
