Melechesh

Any fans of Israeli band Melechesh? I first became familiar with them with their terrific Emissaries album. I really could connect with the brutality and musicianship. How the hipsters can promote bands like Deafheaven or Liturgy and completely ignore these guys is baffling. Has anyone listened to their 2010 album The Epigenesis ? They've also got a new album coming out in early 2015.

In my top ten favorite bands of all time. Can't wait for their new album coming out this February.

BTW S-F, they do not like to be referred to as an Israeli band despite the fact they formed in Israel as non of the members of the band past and present were/are Israeli and they were pretty much pushed out of the country because some of the idiots there thought they were "satanic" or some crap like that. Definitely one of the most unique and original bands to come out from the 90's.

Had the pleasure of catching them live 7 years ago at a festival. They were beyond amazing and were very cool guys to hang with (especially Ashmedi as he hung out and spoke with everyone). Looking forward to new music from Ashmedi and whomever he has chosen to record with.

Emissaries is the first album that I heard by Melechesh and I was blown away by them! Great band!! Epigenesis is a great album too!

Listened to this over at Metalsucks a couple of days ago. I like it.

I like it. I was expecting black or death metal but it's kinda one of those bands that aren't easily categorized.
